Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Telugu
Type: Contract
Compensation: $13/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Source documents by finding publicly accessible Telugu PDFs with multimodal elements. Record the source of each document.
• Annotate structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region of the page. Assign each a component type and reading-order index.
• Record relationships by linking each region to its parent component, such as a figure or table.
• Transcribe text faithfully in Telugu script , including handwritten content. Flag any illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata including language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work thoroughly. Experienced annotators take on end-to-end reviews.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Native fluency in Telugu , including full command of the script.
• Experience with document annotation, transcription, or related fields.
• Attention to detail with character-level accuracy.
• Systematic approach to applying taxonomy across pages.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Preferred

• Experience with regional-language AI data annotation or bilingual evaluation.
• Skills in transcription, localization, and OCR correction .
• Knowledge of Unicode normalization and Telugu input methods.
